What I learned From my First Blogger Event

what I learned on my first blogger event - What I learned From my First Blogger Event

I have been blogging (on and off) since 2007 and it is just this year that I have attended my very first ever blogger event. One major reason is because I have kids and going outside by myself is nearly impossible. Another reason is that I tend to be shy to meet other bloggers. I am not a pro despite how old I have been doing this. I am not a good writer. I find it hard to make a blog post consistently because of lack of time. But I know I need this, I need an outlet, something that is not about doing chores or fulfilling small tasks for my clients (I make websites for a living). I need to write and express my thoughts. Hence, I continue to blog.

Face your Fears

Finally I have gathered strength and faced my fear. I joined and actually went to a blogger event. More about the event on this post – click here. Excited and at the same time afraid. I met my online blogger friend Serene of The Super Momma. She is nice and pretty. Talking to her is just the same as with chatting with her online. If only my kids are not around I would probably have more time to chat with her.

Blogger Event Must Haves

Here are some of tips I would have told myself before going to the event.

Bring your Electric Fan / Manual Fan / Anything to keep you cool

We have a small rechargeable fan at home. It is really handy but the battery does not last that long that is why I bought a manual fan that when you press the button the fan blades will turn. You have to keep pressing the button, could be a bit tiring but less tiring to hands compared to a regular fan and it is better than the rechargeable electric fan because it does not need to be recharged. Anyway, I am the type of person who sweats a lot. I checked the weather forecast and they said it will rain that is why I bought a cardigan with me instead of a fan. From now on despite the weather predictions, I will bring my fan with me.

Make Sure You Charge Your Devices or Better Bring a Power Bank

This is the reason why I wasn’t able to get my free food. I went outside the park to fetch my baby. They ate at Jollibee, because as you know kids, they get hungry easily. My phone was drained that is why I wasn’t able to contact Serene. Do not fret, I did not allowed my self to get hungry, while the program is still ongoing, I left the area where the program is ongoing and ate.  I felt that my glucose level is getting low, I started to get dizzy. I have a petite body, that is because my metabolism is very fast. I do not know if it is a gift or a curse. I have a hard time increasing my weight despite over eating however, I easily break out into sweats and seldom get thirsty. A hot room for normal people feels like hell to me.

Bring a Camera

I usually take a picture using my phone but when the sunset came, the quality of the pictures I took are bad. I wish I brought my digital camera with me.

I hope this would not be the last blogger event I would be attending. I already started stepping outside my comfort zone.
